Vague scenarios
Running time - 60:36
On the program this week, an array of different sounds and textures that are as varied in tone as they are in the location of their creation. From Melbourne, Australia a new track by Maya Borjesson (aka Hand Clap) entitled 'All That Unfolds, Returns' from an album just released called 'Upon Reflection' displays a pulsing synth and a gentle, calming development. Lithuania-based Donatas Bielkauskas provides a lush sounding piece entitled 'Atéjimas/ Intro' from an album released late last year called 'Takas'. Greek label Heat Crimes have just released an album by Orthodox priest Fr. Dionysios Tabakis who plays in a traditional Byzantine style using an assortment of traditional instruments and records at home. The track featured entitled 'Relaxation Music with Tanbur' is a delighful combination of soft pads, nature sounds and micro-tonal droned phrases of the Tanbur which is a traditional long necked instrument orginiating from Mesopotania and Southern or Central Asia. It's a fascinating piece of music. Be sure to check out the other tracks on this week's episode of ambient hour. Until next time. Bye now.
